Maria’s Story Freedom Through Community

When Maria’s husband was detained by ICE, her world turned upside down. With no income and two young children, she faced eviction and despair. Through Project Relief’s mutual aid fund, our volunteers helped cover her rent, groceries, and legal fees while our partners connected her husband with an immigration lawyer.

Samuel’s Story Finding Shelter, Finding Hope

After fleeing violence in his home country, Samuel arrived in Maine with nothing but a backpack. He slept outside for weeks until a volunteer reached out. Through emergency housing support, Project Relief provided Samuel with a safe place to stay, food, and transportation to his asylum hearings.

A Mother’s Strength, Feeding the Future

When the pandemic hit, one mother of four lost her job and struggled to feed her children. Project Relief’s food delivery program made sure her family had groceries, diapers, and basic supplies every week. She now helps organize food distributions for other families in need.

Standing Against ICE, Together

When our community learned of an ICE operation targeting a local immigrant worker, we mobilized through our Rapid Response Network. Volunteers shared alerts, offered rides to safe spaces, and raised funds for legal aid.
