Project Relief: Immigrants Building Power, Together
Project Relief is a Black immigrant-led mutual aid and racial justice collective based in Maine.
We were founded in 2019 by immigrants who saw how deeply the system fails our people—families detained by ICE, parents losing homes, children going hungry—and decided to step in where institutions would not.
We are not a charity.
We are neighbors helping neighbors, immigrants protecting immigrants, and a community fighting for justice, dignity, and safety for all.
To protect immigrant families, fight systemic racism, and build community power through mutual aid, legal defense, housing support, and food access.
We believe in a Maine where every person—regardless of immigration status—can live free from fear, detention, and hunger.
